About Dr. Michelle Storie
Michelle Storie, Ph.D. is a New York state licensed psychologist and permanently-certified school psychologist within the Central Square Central School District and is the Director of the Psychoeducational Teaching Laboratory at Syracuse University. Michelle has formerly served as Visiting Assistant Professor in the Counseling and Psychological Services Department at SUNY Oswego and has been an adjunct instructor teaching courses in educational psychology and learning disabilities at Syracuse University.
Michelle received her Ph.D. in School Psychology from Syracuse University in 2001 and has 20 years of experience working at the K-12 level. Michelle was Co-Chairperson of the NYASP 2015 Conference, and was Co-Chairperson of the NYASP 2011 Conference, where she had the pleasure of introducing and meeting keynote speaker Dr. Temple Grandin. Michelle’s research interests include development of prosocial skills, the impact of health and wellness programs on academic achievement, and effective transition from high school to college. She presents locally and nationally on these topics, as well as learning disabilities and psychoeducational assessment.
Michelle offers psychoeducational evaluations, professional development, and presentations. Michelle’s evaluations are comprehensive, and include deep analysis into areas of learning strengths and weaknesses, as well as exploration of strategies that help remediate areas of weakness through trial teaching techniques.
In her free time, Michelle is a licensed Zumba instructor, who enjoys teaching at resorts in Jamaica and the Dominican Republic, and is the mother of a loving eleven-year old boy.
